Swim, snorkel, kayak or paddle board with the Leopard Sharks in the crystal clear blue water at La Jolla Shores. Whether a local or on vacation this is a bucket list item where I can be there to capture those special moments for you. From La Jolla Shores to La Jolla Cove sea-life and humans co-exist in perfect harmony. La Jolla Shores hosts the world’s largest population of harmless pregnant leopard sharks mainly from June to December, where hundreds gather in the shallow water to incubate. Some are there all year -round.
The Sharks are known to be docile, best to move slowly and quietly so they will swim next to you and under you. There is something so special about being in the ocean and being around all marine life. You can usually find them near or in front of the Marine Room Restaurant. While out on the water you will be able to see the Guitar fish, Stingrays, California’s State Marine Fish, the Garibaldi and more! Generally mornings are the best time to see, as it is the calmest and clearest. As the wind picks up the visibility changes.
